AN exciting development is our acceptance of ‘The Eden Alternative’ as the philosophy on which we run our residential centre. This philosophy focuses on the provision of an environment that encourages the continuation of resident’s personal growth.
‘A resident- centered community rather than a facility for the disabled and weak’.
A huge part of the Eden Alternative is to address the three plagues of Loneliness, helplessness and boredom that residents in facilities experience. We have identified the establishment of a recreation centre that will be used as a library, computer centre and lounge as an urgent need.
We need money to convert a double garage and assistance with computers, books, a TV and furniture.
